I recently held a one day portrait painting workshop at Isleworth and Syon School for a group of 45 year 10 and 11 students. I prepared an example and photographed it at different stages to show the process and layering of different colours and tones.

  2. View Stage 1 - minimal pencil marks for location and composition.
  3. View Dark tones and shadows.
  4. View Mid tones
  5. View Filling in flesh highlights.
  6. View Adding white for highlights.
  7. View Final product with details and finishing touches.

Students Work

I am available for private tuition for students of all ages and levels. My rates are £20/ hour or £200 for eleven one hour sessions. If you don't live in the Hounslow/ Isleworth/ Osterley area then there will be an additional travel fee of £5 per visit.
